Tesla Model Y ordering opens for Hong Kong the first Right Hand Drive location.
Hong Kong is the first place to be able to order the Model Y. Recently i suggested a timeline and placement of the Model Y within the Tesla line up for Right hand drive countries. Let’s hope this is the start of that prediction.
Since the release of the Model Y over a year ago the release to right hand drive countries has been a topic of much debate. But today we wait no longer. The right-hand drive Model Y is now available in the first of location, that being Hong Kong.
Late last night the Model Y page for Tesla in Hong Kong “only”, went into a maintenance.
At approximately 11:30am (AEST) on the 2/7/2021 the Model Y page went live again.
The right-hand drive Model Y is available to order in Hong Kong.

Standard Range Features
The standard range will as always be the most popular variant of the Model Y. This car has a lot of amazing features that gives the customer a wonderful experience.

Long Range Features

Wheels
The long range includes the 20” induction wheels. Currently there is only this choice.

Performance Features
As with all performance variants with the Model Y there is a Performance upgrade that includes the below items.

Wheels
The performance Model Y will be rocking the Überturbine wheels in alignment with the Model 3.

Colours
As with all the Model Y range there are still the 5 colours that the vehicles come in
- Pearl White Multi coat

- Solid Black

- Midnight Silver Metallic

- Deep blue Metallic

- Red Multi Coat

Interior
The interior also retains the two colour choices of Black and White

Seating choice
In addition to the interior colours there is currently a choice of 5 seat interior. This choice seems arbitrary as 5 seats in the model 3 options is not a choice, however as we have seen in the Left-hand drive variants a 7-seat option became available. This seems to be the additional option coming into the future.

Full Self Driving
Model Y Ordering Opens in Hong Kong!!!!! The Full self-driving capabilities have been a long time coming but with V9 only “two weeks away” the purchasing of this option would be well advised.

Australia
It is encouraging to see that the right-hand drive Model Y is now available to order in Hong Kong. What this means for Australia is yet to be determined.
However, it is a very positive sign that the Model Y is making inroads towards ordering for more Right-hand drive countries like Australia and New Zealand and beyond. The recent introduction of incentives for EVs in new south wales and Victoria and hopefully soon in Queensland will only increase the demand for Electric vehicles.
I look forward to the day that Model Y ordering occurs in Australia and hope to be one of the many that place an order for this incredible car.
